British Romantic Suspense
Hanleigh's fourth series is a little bit different from the other Contemporary Romance series in Hanleigh's London Saga. The Romantic Suspense series follows a couple of police officers in the middle of a manhunt for a serial killer and so has a suspense side to it that Hanleigh's other series don't have. Hanleigh absolutely loves watching TV dramas about the police and serial killers. If you do too, this series is perfect for you. A Bleak December is a standalone novella attached to the series that runs parallel to Inescapable Fate, the first book in the series. You will absolutely love the leading ladies of this series; Georgia Kentley and Ella Winthrope. They are both incredibly strong women who have faced some serious pain in their lives. Together they show us that it's okay to lean on someone else from time to time and sometimes it's okay to break.
The first part in a three-part serial novel. When Georgia Kentley breaks up with her long-term boyfriend Darren over Christmas, she really can't wait to return to work on the 27th of December. The excitement dies when she meets her new boss, Walker Trent. DCI Trent is a misogynistic pain in the arse. Being a young police officer, Georgia has met her fair share of men who don't understand that she can hold her own. Every single time she has proven them wrong. Will she be able to prove to Walker Trent just how capable she is or will she get herself into a heap of trouble, danger and chaos? And when chaos ensues who will be there to save her?
Detective Sergeant Georgia Kentley is walking right into a trap and she knows it.
That won't stop her. Not when she knows there's a life on the line.
Walker Trent, boyfriend and boss, doesn't understand why she can't just do as she's damn well told and stay put.
With Georgia's life on the line, DCI Trent is coming after her.
Whether she wants rescuing or not, he's on a mission to save her life and destroy anyone trying to hurt her.
She's convinced she doesn't need saving and he's scared that this time he'll be too late.
Georgia is scared out of her mind but this time it's not because there's a crazy-arsed serial killer out to get her.
No. This time, her boyfriend & boss DCI Walker Trent just wants to marry her.
Georgia is more scared of wearing a wedding dress than she is of chasing down criminals, but there's no way that Walker will let her back out.
He's holding her to the promise and so Georgia has no other option other than to walk into that church and say "I do."
Her Christmas list isn't long. It is the shortest it has ever been. She doesn't want a pretty new pair of shoes or a new dress to wear to her work's New Years Eve bash.
All Ella wants is a Christmas Miracle.
With a sick mum in hospital and a brother at home, she struggles to maintain order in the chaos that is quickly engulfing her. If she doesn't get her miracle will her entire world fall apart? And if it does, who will help her put it back together again?
